On 1st December 2016 World famous Vienna Strauss Orchestra, which impresses the audience all over the world is going to visit the capital of Azerbaijan with a new program. Performance will be held at the famous Heydar Aliyev Centre.
Vienna Strauss Orchestra is a leading European team, the keeper of the true musical culture of Vienna and the ever young charm of Viennese music. Collective was founded in 1978 by Peter Guth, Vedran Herbert is the artistic director and oboist, who became director of the group. The orchestra gained international recognition for its original interpretations of Viennese music, the performance of a wide repertoire of classical pieces as well as works of the Strauss dynasty and the masters of Viennese operetta. Orchestra plays not only at festivals, but also at the Viennese balls all over the world, therefore men wear traditional tailcoat and women bright evening dresses. The program of Baku concert includes Johann Strauss’s work "Waltz King" and other Viennese classics - Johann Strauss (father), Carl Michael Tsirera, Robert Stolz, Emmerich Kalman, Luigi Arditi, Josef Strauss, Eduard Strauss and Franz Lehar. Founder and artistic director of the orchestra, Peter Guth by staying committed to the traditions of the Strauss time, will be conducting by playing the violin. Excerpts from operettas will be presented by orchestra soloist Elizabeth Jarman (soprano).
This is the second concert of the Vienna Strauss Festival Orchestra at the Baku Heydar Aliyev Center. For the first time orchestra performed on this stage in 2014.
